I have loved and collected OOAK Art Dolls for as long as I can remember. I never thought I had the talent to make one until I took a character needle felting class from Sharon Costello in October of 2011. I took another class at the John Campbell Folk School in 2013. Although, felting was my first love it was not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to make Santa’s and character dolls. My husband and I traveled all the way from North Carolina to Pennsylvania to take a class from the very talented Diane Troutman. We were hooked. My husband has gone on to take the Friends and Family Class from Jack Johnston and has plans to take another one in the near future. Although, I love to sculpt the Old World and primitive Santa’s I am going in a different direction. I have taken several workshops with Ankie Daanen making character dolls with paper clay and plan to make Santa’s from Prosculpt and paper clay!
