My name is Barbara Felts. I began my doll career in 1986 with porcelian reproductions and moved to creating one of a kind Art Dolls in 1996 after taking Jack Johnston's professional class. In the past have not been able to devote as much time to my dollmaking as I would have liked due raising children and working full time. The kids have moved on to college now so I am planning to make more time and will be attending several doll shows on the east coast. I have taught doll sculpting classes and created some tutorials to share the process and skill that it takes to create these Art Doll sculptures. I love seeing students learn and hearing from all of the people who started by using my tutorials. I am honored to have won the 2014 Dolls Diamond Award of Excellence my first time entering.
