My name is Julie Carpenter and my husband Dan and I live in a remote area of the Bruce Peninsula in Miller Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Throughout my life, dolls have been my passion. I made them and I collected them. I learned to sew and crochet when I was a little girl and it’s served me well. My life changed forever when I was browsing on eBay and I discovered OOAK polymer clay babies. So intrigued was I by these creations, I had to learn to sculpt! Soon I discovered what a challenging art form it was. My first sculpted baby didn’t look like a baby at all! I studied tutorials and received a great deal of guidance and encouragement from my artist friends and my husband Dan (who is a seasoned sculptor and Artist in his own right). Well, seven years and over almost 400 sculptures later, the reason I love babies has come out of my clay and my love of this art is stronger than ever. Since it is my nature to share and help others, I created a group on Facebook. I have made so many dolly friends since “Polymer Clay Babies” began. We now have over 2300 members. I enjoy seeing everyone’s work. It’s so satisfying watching beginners start sculpting, and in a few months turning out such pretty babies. It just makes my heart sing. My One Of A Kind dolls have been adopted all over the world, and I want to thank each and every person who has purchased one of my babies. You own a piece of my heart and I’m grateful that someone loves my creations as much as I do. It’s the best feeling ever!
