I have lived in Hawaii since 1977 and Kauai since 1982. My love as a child was for puppets. Once on Kauai with little kids to amuse I started a Poipu Puppeteers and made all the puppets, theaters, props and skit which we performed in Kauai schools at Christmas. And then I discovered OOAK Art Dolls. Mine at first were Hawaiian Santas and

looked like what Santa would look like if enjoying himself on Kauai. Most had bare arms and legs and stood in the sand I took right off Poipu Beach. But life got in the way and I put this aside for years. Then classes with Patti Culea and Wendy and Toby Froud brought it all back. Though I still have that darn day job that takes up a lot of time I finally built a workshop so I don't ever have to put it away. I so love making fairies, elves and of course Santas and love to use Kauai as their home and weave enchanting tales for each one. I can hardly wait to retire but my husband fears I make go into my workshop and never reappear. Stranger things have happened here on Kauai.
