During my early years I developed a passion for art through oil painting, but raising a family and a full time career took most of my time. I continued my art passion but only as a hobby.
In 2010 due to a catastrophic illness and no longer in control, my priorities changed. Finding myself physically disabled, my soul began its healing journey through the arts.
At first, it was cloth dolls but later I discovered something much more fascinating to me, polymer clay, and one of a kind figurative sculptures of all kinds. Working diligently, I took every online class I could. Along the way, I met some very special people who really inspired me and unselfishly shared their knowledge with me.
I love making OOAK Character Dolls, I think that is my niche. Especially dolls that have a likeness to someone I know or a famous person, like Portrait Dolls. Sometimes though when I see beautiful Fantasy dolls, OOAK Miniature Babies and BJD I sculpt those too, but I always go back to my Characters.
Today, I am an Art Doll Artist and I could not possibly imagine going back to that other life….
Some of my OOAK Art Dolls have been featured in the Professional Doll Makers Art Guild’s 25th Anniversary Edition Book and Pretty Toys Magazine.
I have won numerous awards and recognitions including Gold Awards from Professional Doll Makers Art Guild 2015-2016-2017, Challenges in the International Art Doll Registry, the Outstanding Artistry Award from IDTS in 2015 and Doll Magazine Industry’s Choice Award 2016-2017.
